Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Congress Media Department President Dr. Mukesh Nayak expressed deep grief over the tragic deaths of children in Chhindwara, allegedly caused by the consumption of toxic cough syrup. He accused the state government of negligence and attempting to shield the guilty, calling the incident an exposure of the state’s collapsing healthcare system.

Dr. Nayak criticised Chief Minister Mohan Yadav’s visit to Chhindwara, alleging that such trips were “mere political tourism” offering only sympathy, not solutions. “The Chief Minister and Health Minister have contradicted themselves—first giving a clean chit, claiming the deaths were unrelated to the syrup, and later admitting the truth after the report confirmed otherwise,” he said.
