TOMPKINS COUNTY, N.Y. (WENY) -- Local, state and federal law enforcement are investigating a series of email threats sent to schools, elected officials, county officials and financial institutions across Tompkins County. The Tompkins County Sheriff's Office made the announcement on Monday, Oct. 6th, saying the messages contained direct threats against individuals.
"Our top priority is the safety of our students, educators, and community members," said Sheriff Derek R. Osborne, adding, "We are maintaining open communication with our school districts and law enforcement partners as this situation develops."
