Well before collaborating on their new song “Supermujeres,” Mōriah and Ana Bárbara ‘s first time meeting felt like a turn of fate. Both singers were tasked with singing the national anthems of the U.S. and Mexico, respectively, shortly after President Trump’s reelection.

“I asked if [Ana Bárbara] would sing the last line of the ‘Star Spangled Banner’ with me as a gesture of unity,” the country star tells Rolling Stone . “When we finally sang together, the audience erupted — it was a visceral reminder of what happens when animosity turns into camaraderie.”

That special, culture-unifying moment for the two Latina women felt like the perfect catalyst for their “big sister-little sister” friendship and their new collaboration, whose video launches with Rolling Stone on Monday.
