Two people have been hospitalized after an explosion at a McDonald’s restaurant in Upstate New York.

The blast occurred Sunday night around 10:20 p.m. at the McDonald’s in Fredonia, according to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office. WIVB reports an investigation found an employee was cleaning a grilling unit when a natural gas line became detached; the gas was ignited by another grilling unit, sparking a flash fire.

WGRZ reports a female employee was flown to a Buffalo hospital for her injuries, while another female employee was taken to a local hospital. A male employee was treated at the scene.

One of the workers was listed in critical condition, according to WKBW . Their name has not been released.

The incident has been ruled an accident.
