Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Jharkhand Assembly, Babulal Marandi, launched a scathing attack on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee following the alleged attack on Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Shankar Ghosh and Malda North MP Khagen Murmu while distributing relief materials for people affected by the flood and landslides in the State.
Speaking to reporters, Marandi accused the Trinamool Congress (TMC) of undermining democracy in the state, stating, “There is no democracy in Bengal. Trinamool Congress has completely destroyed democracy there. Even in local body polls, people are murdered. People have to take shelter in Jharkhand,” Marandi further alleged that Mamata Banerjee, realising that she was likely to lose power in the upcoming elections, had resorted to violent tactics.
