CHICAGO — Chicago Police Superintendent Larry Snelling is scheduled to hold a news conference Monday afternoon.

The news conference is set to start at 1 p.m. at police headquarters.

It follows a weekend of activity that was part of Operation Midway Blitz including an incident in which a woman was shot after allegedly attempting to hit ICE agents with her car on the Southwest Side.

On Monday, Illinois and Chicago sued to block President Trump’s deployment of National Guard members to the city, after the administration moved to send in hundreds of troops.

Also on Monday, Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson signed an executive order declaring "ICE-Free Zones" in Chicago.

Johnson will join Pritzker in a separate news conference scheduled for 2 p.m.
