ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. - A man has been charged following a deadly crash over the weekend in University City.
According to records, 29-year-old Logan Spies allegedly ran a red light on Forest Park Parkway "at a high rate of speed" around 1:30 a.m. Saturday when he struck another vehicle traveling south on Big Bend Boulevard.
The collision caused the victim's car to overturn and catch on fire.
The victim was transported to the hospital where he later died, according to officials. Spies was also transported with non-life threatening injuries.
Spies was charged with first-degree involuntary manslaughter and is being held on a $200,000 cash-only bond.
