Gowrie mum Kailah Willcocks did extensive research before finding a general practitioner for her three-year-old son.
She chose Dr Khalil Obeid at Greenway Medical Centre because he bulk-bills and specialises in children's health.
"If I had to pay, I would probably see the doctor a lot less," she said.
"I'm pretty happy with how he treats my son when he's gone to the doctor, so I just continue to take my son back there."
Other Canberrans may struggle to find an affordable doctor, as the ACT continues to have the lowest rate of GPs for the population.
The territory has 91 GPs per 100,000 people, according to the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners 2025 Health of the National Report. The national average is 113, an increase from the year before.
