A section of the westbound I-10 Katy Freeway will be reduced to two lanes beginning later this month until mid-2026 as the Texas Department of Transportation continues work on the I-10 White Oak Bayou Elevation Project.
According to TxDOT, the traffic switch will be implemented on Friday, Oct. 24, along the westbound I-10 Katy Freeway from the I-45 North Freeway to Houston Avenue.
"This closure is necessary to complete the construction of the new elevated westbound mainlanes, which will overlap the footprint of the existing westbound mainlanes," TxDOT said in a press release Monday.
Currently, I-10 westbound is already reduced to three lanes from I-45 to Studemont Street, according to TxDOT.
This phase of construction is expected to last until mid-2026 and is part of th
