DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - Projects in the Quad-City region will lose tens of millions in Department of Energy grants after the federal department canceled $7.5 billion in clean energy projects.
The DOE terminated 321 grants supporting 223 projects worth $7.6 billion on Oct. 1.
Several of those are in the Democratic Congressman Eric Sorenson’s backyard, the 17th District, which covers Rock Island, Whiteside, Carroll, parts of Mercer, Warren, Henry and Knox counties:
