Brian Walshe 's murder trial has been delayed as the Massachusetts man accused of killing his wife was ordered hospitalized for evaluation of whether he's competent to stand trial, court records show.

Judge Diane Freniere ordered Monday after a hearing that Walshe be evaluated at Bridgewater State Hospital for 20 days to determine if he's competent to stand trial, according to the court docket. He'd been set for a final pre-conference hearing on Tuesday morning, ahead of a trial beginning on Oct. 20, but both have been rescheduled, the record shows.
