HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) - The city of Rockport has announced that it has a dog park.

Officials say they have opened a temporary dog park at 308 Main Street. Officials note they have heard from community members that a dog park would be a good addition to Rockport. Officials are giving it a try.

City officials say they will be trying this project out for 12 weeks with biweekly check-ins. To pass the project, they are looking to have a 50% success rate, which means no excrement left behind and no vandalism.

A spokesperson says, "We want to have a clean and safe environment for the dogs of Rockport. If this is a successful project, the city will be looking into a larger and permanent dog park to serve our community."
