Tepper Sports & Entertainment has proposed a new privately funded 4,400-seat indoor venue beside Bank of America Stadium in uptown Charlotte.

The “TSE Performance Venue” would host 80 to 100 shows per year and occupy two acres of city-owned land near the stadium. The facility would be freestanding and constructed with no public money, according to Tepper’s proposal, which was reviewed today by Charlotte’s Jobs and Economic Development Committee.

Charlotte City Council is expected to vote on lease terms for the project as early as October 13.

City officials say the project supports hospitality, tourism, and tax revenue while boosting jobs and local entertainment options — all without expanding the existing Bank of America Stadium ground lease.
