A 12-year-old boy is in critical condition after a bike crash in Sartell on Sunday left him without a pulse.
The Sartell Police Department is praising the efforts of those who witnessed the crash, including the boy's 10-year-old friend who called 911 and a nearby citizen who performed CPR until responders arrived.
The crash happened near the bottom of a large hill known as "Muskie Hill", located alongside the city's Northside Park.
In a news release, police said a 10-year-old boy who was riding with the victim witnessed the crash and called 911, but was having difficulty confirming their location.
A nearby citizen helped verify their location and then determined the 12-year-old boy did not have a pulse and was not breathing.
