BRAZORIA COUNTY, Texas -- A mother accused of shooting four of her children in a car early Saturday has been charged, the Brazoria County, Texas Sheriff's Office said.

Deputies said they responded to a gas station near Angleton just before 5 a.m. after the mother called saying she needed them at the location. When deputies arrived, they reportedly found four children with gunshot wounds.

Authorities said a 13-year-old boy and a 3-year-old girl were pronounced dead at the scene. A 9-year-old girl and an 8-year-old boy were flown to a Houston hospital, where they remain stable.
