NEW BRUNSWICK – Saint Peter’s Healthcare System and Atlantic Healthcare System have agreed to end pursuit of their proposed merger.

In a joint statement provided to TAPinto New Brunswick, the 118-year-old hospital off Easton Avenue and the not-for-profit system with more than 550 sites of care, including its seven hospitals, said they have mutually agreed not to pursue the transaction “after lengthy discussion and careful analysis of the rapidly evolving health care landscape nationally and its impact on hospitals and health systems across the country.”
