The family of a man who died after riding a roller coaster at Universal has condemned the theme park’s decision to reopen the ride.
Kevin Rodriguez Zavala, 32, “died accidentally” from blunt force injuries he suffered while riding Stardust Racers at Universal’s new park, Epic Universe, in mid-September.
Attorneys for the family told the Associated Press that the ride was reopened even though they were in “active communication” with the company seeking to have it inspected first by their legal team’s experts.
“Whoever is making the decision to put profits over people and their safety, may God have mercy on your soul,” Ana Zavala said in Spanish during a news conference on Monday.
