Airtel Business, the enterprise solutions arm of telecom major Bharti Airtel, has won a multi-year contract from the Indian Railways Security Operations Centre (IRSOC) to design, build and manage a unified cybersecurity ecosystem that will protect the national transporter’s vast digital network, it announced on Monday.

What will the project enatail?

The project will establish a centralised, multi-layered defence system for round-the-clock monitoring, threat detection and response across 26 locations, covering over 160, 000 employees and 190, 000 devices. It aims to secure critical data linked to ticketing, train tracking, freight operations and signalling — functions that serve over 20 million daily passengers and handle 1.5 billion tonnes of freight annually.
