A 19-year-old man was sentenced Monday to five years of probation for an attempted armed robbery that ended with the shooting of a man and a teen.
Antron L. Pearson Jr. of Fort Wayne pleaded guilty to felony attempted armed robbery when he entered an agreement in August. The plea agreement limited his possible prison time to 10 years.
Allen Superior Court Judge David Zent accepted the agreement Monday and decided to not sentence Pearson to any prison time. Instead, Pearson was sentenced to serve five years of probation. An additional 11 years were suspended, which means he will have to serve that time only if he violates the law or terms of his probation.
Pearson was one of two 17-year-olds charged with the November 2023 shooting that critically injured a man and a teen. Jeremiah C. Joh
