Police say a man was stabbed in front of his 5-year-old daughter at a trailer park in rural Minnesota early Saturday morning.

Hubbard County Sheriff Cory Aukes said in a press release Monday that the incident was reported at 3:35 a.m. Saturday, with his office receiving a call reporting a man "and his 5-year-old daughter screaming for help outside" the trailer park in Straight River Township, south of Park Rapids.

The 49-year-old had been stabbed 8-10 times and was taken initially to St. Joseph Hospital in Park Rapids and then airlifted to Fargo Hospital.

His suspected attacker is a 44-year-old Park Rapids man who during an interview allegedly told police he used to live next door to the victim and "suspected that his wife had an affair" with him, so he went to the victim's trailer to h
