The NHL’s biggest star is staying with the Oilers .
Edmonton signed Connor McDavid to a two-year contract extension with an AAV of $12.5 million, the Oilers announced.
McDavid has spent his entire 10-year career with the Oilers after being drafted by the franchise first overall in 2015.
“Connor’s commitment to our team and our city is surpassed only by his singular focus of bringing a Stanley Cup back to fans of the Edmonton Oilers,” executive vice president of hockey operations and general manager Stan Bowman said in a statement .
A five-time Art Ross Trophy winner and three-time MVP, McDavid has 361 goals, 721 assists 1,082 career points in 712 regular season games.
McDavid has eight seasons of at least 100 points, including five straight.
