GRIMES, Iowa —

The Polk County Sheriff's Office is inviting families to join them at the Grimes Fall Festival for the candy crawl.

The event will be held Oct. 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Grimes South Sports Complex. It will feature many displays and demonstrations, bounce houses, clowns, balloons and other fun activities for all ages.

The city of Grimes will have many vendors and food trucks available for attendees to enjoy. A sensory-friendly time is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., during which no lights or sirens will be used.

Participants are encouraged to wear costumes and bring a bag to gather candy and swag. In case of "spooky" weather, a make-up day is set for Oct. 18.
