OSCEOLA, Ind. (WNDU) - Penn-Harris-Madison held its regular meeting Monday night.
That meeting, though, took place at Moran Elementary School for a special reason.
The Penn-Harris-Madison Board named the 51-year-old educational services center building after the superintendent who was in charge when the building was constructed.
Dean Speicher was the top district administrator when the center was built for a mere $400,000.
The former super was on hand at the meeting as the building took his name and spoke about the exponential growth in enrollment that happened during his stewardship of the school district.
“When I came here, we had 3,000 students. When I left 21 years later, we had 9,000 students and we had built Penn High School,” said Dean Speicher former superintendent of Penn-Har
