COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) - College Station City Council is taking a fresh look at the Midtown district after a proposed data center was declined for the area.

At Thursday’s council meeting, members will look into a proposed baseball complex located behind Costco. According to the proposal, the project would cost around $55 million, and the city is asked to contribute at least $15 million and 80 acres of land.
This comes after a proposed data center drew heavy pushback from neighbors who thought the development would not fit in with the atmosphere of Midtown.
Councilman Bob Yancy told KBTX he agreed with the decision to reject the center and look into other types of development.
