It took the deaths of 41 people in the Karur stampede to propel actor-turned politician Vijay to the centre stage of Tamil Nadu politics.

As usual, the blame game has begun with the BJP and AIADMK blaming the ruling Party DMK which in turn is blaming Vijay’s TVK Party etc.

In the FIR filed by the police statement, TVK General Secretary N Anand has been named but not Vijay. One could argue that when the General Secretary can be booked then why not Vijay Himself, the founder of the Party?

The reason given is that a case has been booked against TVK functionaries who requested permission for the meeting. Would they request permission for the meeting without Vijay’s approval?
