BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - Rutland residents have decided to move forward with a nearly $3.9 million bond to upgrade city infrastructure and boost development.

It will pay to bury power lines and replace aging water and sewer infrastructure underneath Center and Wales streets.
The project is in the city’s tax increment financing district, meaning tax revenue from the hotel and other commercial development would help repay the bond.
The bond passed 1190 to 213.
