LAS VEGAS ( FOX5 ) — One homeless man at Sunset Park, near Harry Reid Airport, says he’s seen the problems firsthand in parking lots after the park closes.

“We call them zombies,” said the man.

He added, “But when they’re done, they leave crushed beer cans and bottle caps and plastic ware.”

But to keep cars out of the park, Clark County Commissioner Jim Gibson says new gates are installed at all of the park’s six car entrances. They are expecting to be operational by October 15.

“These new gates will help to ensure that activities that challenge the safety of the park in the overnight hours are mitigated as much as possible and represent another resource the County has put in place to increase park safety for the betterment of our community,” said Commissioner Gibson in a recent news
