BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Councilman Darryl Hurst is spearheading an initiative aimed at revitalizing the Plank Road corridor in Baton Rouge.

Revive Plank Road aims to develop the North Baton Rouge area into an "economic mecca," according to Hurst, who represents District 5. The first target in the plan is the Delmont Economic Development District to leverage sales and use taxes for improvements in facades, signage, lighting, and landscape from Plank Road at Evangeline Street to Plank Road and Airline Highway.
