(KRON) -- Morgan Hill police released video Tuesday of a mountain lion that was recorded on a resident's cell phone in Jackson Oaks.

The video above shows the lion frozen on the prowl. Police did not mention further sightings or any reported injuries.

Animal control officers urge community members to remember the following if ever encountering a mountain lion: • Never approach a mountain lion. Give them an escape route. • Do not run. Stay calm. Do not turn your back. • Face the animal, make loud noise and try to look bigger. If with small children, put them on your shoulders. • Stay alert on trails. Keep pets leashed and walk with small children, don’t let them run ahead. • Do not crouch down or bend over.
