TEXARKANA (KSLA) - The University Center at Texas A&M University in Texarkana is now known as the Anita and Truman Arnold University Center, and the newly formed business college will also carry the Arnold’s name.

The announcement was made Tuesday, October 7.

University officials say Truman Arnold was instrumental in getting the A&M campus at its present location.

“They were integral in rallying political support. Philanthropical support. Both personally and collectively over a period of many years in order to facilitate our move to this campus and continue to be generous and supportive to this campus,” said Ross Alexander, the president Texas A&M University-Texarkana.

Arnold says it was a team effort from many area residents to make Texas A&M University at Texarkana what it is today.
