DES MOINES, Iowa —

A kidnapping suspect was arrested by Des Moines police Tuesday after leading officers on a pursuit on the city's north side.

Des Moines police say around 3:30 p.m., officers spotted a stolen Honda Civic near MLK Jr. Parkway and Douglas Avenue. The driver of the vehicle, only identified as a 30-year-old man, refused to stop and sped away before colliding with another vehicle in the intersection of Sixth Avenue and College Avenue.

Police say one person was evaluated by on-scene medics for minor injuries.

According to officials, the kidnapping investigation started in connection to a domestic violence incident on Sept. 30.
