Pa. mink-release case defendant claims to be victim of politically motivated prosecution

SUNBURY — One of those charged with releasing nearly 700 caged minks a year ago claims he is the victim of a politically motivated prosecution.

Christopher Jacob Legere makes the allegation in a brief filed in Northumberland County court.

The briefs were ordered in July by Judge Paige Rosini following a three-hour habeas corpus hearing in which Legere and co-defendant Cara Ashley Mitrano challenged the sufficiency of the evidence.
