Transferring from Georgia in the offseason, junior linebacker Troy Bowles made the move from one historically dominant defense to another. Coming in to play for the No. 15 Michigan football team, Bowles expected no dropoff in the pedigree of the program he chose to play for.
What Bowles didn’t expect was an offseason shoulder injury that kept him sidelined throughout the entirety of spring ball and going into the summer. But rather than viewing the injury as a major setback, Bowles looked at the injury with a different perspective.
“It was challenging coming off of surgery, but it gave me that time in the spring to sit back and learn the defense before I’m actually going out to do it,” Bowles said Tuesday. “So when I was able to start participating and everything, it definitely helped ou
