CANYON, Texas (KFDA) — West Texas A&M University Athletics announced today that head men’s basketball coach Tom Brown has signed a contract extension that will keep him in charge of the team until the summer of 2028.

Last season, Brown and the Buffs finished 19-12, with their season coming to a close against Colorado School of Mines in the NCAA South Central Regional round.

They are now just three weeks away from getting the 2025-26 campaign underway, traveling to St. Joseph, Missouri, to take on Missouri Western and Pittsburg State in the D2CCA Tip-Off Classic on Oct. 31.
