The Amarillo International Film Festival is back for its second year — bigger, bolder, and now fully housed at the Amarillo Art Institute at Arts in the Sunset, where organizers promise an immersive weekend of cinema, conversation and creativity.
“Last year was our first festival, so much of it was unknown,” said Kate McSwain, president of the Amarillo Film Society, the 501(c)(3) nonprofit behind the event. “We learned a lot about logistics, volunteers and attendance. This year we’ve doubled in size — from one screening room to two — and more than doubled the number of films.”
The 2025 Amarillo International Film Festival runs Oct. 9–11, featuring more than 70 films from around the world, including submissions from the U.K., Spain, Russia, Canada, Mexico and Guatemala. Last year’s event
