An Indian IT professional’s viral Reddit post about being fired by a toxic boss — only to be asked to return months later — has gone viral online.

The 31-year-old consultant, in his detailed post titled “Terminated from a high paying job. Now they want me back”, shared how a decade of career stability came crashing down after joining a foreign company as an individual contractor.

He said he was referred by a client and was thrilled by the offer: a 150% salary hike, payment in USD and an almost full work-from-home setup. “I was on cloud nine,” he wrote. “10 hrs a day is normal and often times I worked on weekends as well. I was fairly compensated for overtime as well and I was learning a lot from the project.”
