The Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) has handed one-year suspension to Paris Olympics bronze medalist Aman Sehrawat which means that he is now barred from participating in all wrestling competitions. The 22-year old champions is considered to be one of India’s leading contenders in the men’s freestyle 57 kg division.
In a letter which was dated 23 September 2025, the WFI issued a show-cause notice to Aman demanding an explanation for the oversight.
“…you are hereby suspended from all wrestling-related activities, both at the national and international level, for a period of one (1) year, effective from the date of the show-cause notice,” the WFI said in its letter.
