A convicted murderer has described in detail the day that he shot his father and stepmother – and the "hardest decision" he had to make afterwards. ‌

Speaking on photographer Mark Laita's Soft White Underbelly YouTube channel, Jay Katz admitted that he had been partially influenced by a 1991 crime thriller before choosing to slaughter his parents. ‌
