Port Stephens motor sport legend Richard Mork is revving up for a unique milestone in the Central Tablelands this month.
The 78-year-old Nelsons Plains resident will take to the track once again at Mount Panorama for his 93 rd Bathurst race start.
Sponsored by Uniden Australia, he’ll compete in the highly-competitive V8 SuperUte category from 9 to 12 October.
That means Mork, who started his career in 1964, will be one of the oldest and most experienced drivers on the grid.
He’s spent six decades behind the wheel across a wide variety of disciplines, from drag racing and rally to club sport, motorkhanas, dirt circuits and touring cars.
In fact, his resume reads like a tour through Australia’s greatest circuits, including Castlereagh, Amaroo, Oran Park, Silverdale, Bulli, Hampton and
