Health Directorate urges doctors to avoid prescribing cough syrups for children under five; stresses non-drug remedies and quality control
xHyderabad: The Directorate of Public Health and Family Welfare (DPH&FW), Government of Telangana, has issued an advisory to all healthcare institutions across the state in regard to the rational use of cough syrups in children.
The directive, dated October 5, 2025, follows the guidance of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.
