The National Hurricane Center continues to monitor Tropical Storm Jerry in the Atlantic.

Jerry is moving west-northwest at about 23 mph. A decrease in forward speed is expected during the next couple of days.

On the forecast track, the core of the system is expected to be near or to the north of the northern Leeward Islands late Thursday and Friday.

Jerry is expected to bring two to four inches of rain across the Leeward Islands from Thursday into early Friday, posing a risk of flash flooding.

Maximum sustained winds: 60 mph

Minimum central pressure: 1000 mb

Steady strengthening is forecast, and Jerry is expected to become a hurricane late Wednesday or Thursday morning.

At this time, the system is not expected to impact Florida or the U.S., but it is still something to monitor.
