ST. LOUIS — A 14-year-old boy and a man shot each other in downtown St. Louis on Tuesday night when the boy tried to rob the man at gunpoint, police said.

Both survived.

The shooting was about 7 p.m. Tuesday in the 800 block of North Ninth Street.

The boy was with another suspect when he pulled a gun on two men and tried to rob them, police said.

One of the men, 45, pulled his own gun and ordered the boy to drop his. They both fired and suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The other suspect ran off.
