An affordable housing lottery has opened for a recently completed eight-story building in Carroll Gardens, a short walk away from the Gowanus Canal. It is another lottery tied to the Gowanus rezoning.
Built on the site of a low-slung industrial brick building at 33 4th St., The Carroll will include a total of 82 apartments and have a gym, dog park, and rooftop terrace.
Included in the lottery are 23 units, all rent stabilized and income restricted, 18 of which could be deemed truly affordable. Those are targeted at households of one to five people earning between $38,400 and $105,000 a year, or 40% to 60% Area Median Income , according to the listing .
They include two studio units at $978 and one at $1,521 a month, 10 one-bedroom apartments renting for $1,040 and $1,622 a month
