Former Pro Tempore is suing several groups, including the state, for negligence in the crash that hospitalized his son.
Treat's son, Mason, was pulled over by a Canadian County deputy on I-40 near Yukon in 2024 when another driver wrecked into them from behind.
Treat's lawsuit against the Oklahoma Highway Patrol and the Department of Public Safety claims troopers waited 10 minutes before helping Mason, which Treat says made his son's injuries worse.
Treat also names Canadian County in the lawsuit, saying the length of the traffic stop put Mason in harm's way.
