CHOWCHILLA, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - The Sacramento Sheriff's Office walked alongside the grieving son of Officer Raymond Barrantes on Monday.
The 36-year-old officer with over two decades of experience died in a crash on Highway 152 near Road 13 on Oct. 3.
Chowchilla Police and community members are still grieving Barrantes' loss as a mentor, friend, and family member.
Barrantes had previously served as a West Sacramento Police Officer. The department issued a statement on social media regarding Barrantes that read in part:
We ask that you keep his family, children and the men and women of the Chowchilla Police Department in your thoughts during this tragic time.
