WESTWOOD – The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified a man who committed suicide on the UCLA campus on October 5.

UCLA campus police were alerted to the 500 block of Westwood Plaza to reports of a man found hanging in the structure. He was initially reported missing on October 4.

The address coincides with Parking Structure 8, according to UCLA Transportation Services.

He has been identified as 21-year-old Nicholas Chew. He was pronounced deceased at the scene at 3:27 p.m.

He was a Political Science major at the school and was from Fresno, according to online reports.
