The field of dreams Detroit Tigers legend Kirk Gibson imagined is a reality.

Gibson and his team at the Kirk Gibson Foundation (KGF) along with family, friends and everyone who supported the vision for a free center for people with Parkinson’s Disease gathered Monday to officially open the Kirk Gibson Center for Parkinson’s Wellness in Farmington Hills.

“The opening of this Parkinson’s Center is more than just a building, it’s a center of hope and provides a sense of community for everyone in the battle with Parkinson’s,” Gibson said of the center that already has a roster of 900 members from Macomb, Oakland and Wayne counties looking to take advantage of its programs and services.
