Earvin “Magic” Johnson Wednesday was named the grand marshal of the 2026 Tournament of Roses as the NBA legend will lead the 137th Rose Parade and participate in pregame ceremonies during the 111th Rose Bowl game.

Johnson, considered one of the greatest basketball players of all time, led the Los Angeles Lakers to win five NBA championships in 1980, 1982, 1985, 1987 and 1988 while picking up MVP trophies three times during his celebrated career.

“I never thought in my wildest dreams that I would one day become a grand marshal,” said Johnson as he expressed gratitude. “I’m going to be waving like crazy to all the great fans.”
