LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - St. Louis Catholic’s coaching staff and players said their 1-4 start is misleading and they intend to prove it when district play opens Friday against Westlake.

After a rocky start, Saints coach Chris Truax says the record doesn’t reflect who his team is right now and that the next four games will determine their season.

“This is not a reflection of us, our record right now,” Truax said. “Just like them choosing us for homecoming this year is not a reflection of us and what we’ve done in the past. This is a brand-new season moving forward. The next four games are what’s going to win or lose the district.”

The Saints open district play against the Westlake Rams in a game Truax called very valuable because district standings reset every team to 0-0.
