Arturo Gatti’s son has tragically passed away at the age of 17.

Arturo Gatti Jr was found dead in Mexico on Tuesday - 16 years after the death of his legendary boxing father.

Gatti, a former IBF super-featherweight and WBC super-lightweight champion and known as 'The Thunder,' committed suicide in 2009 after a stellar career during which he battled Floyd Mayweather and enjoyed an epic trilogy with Micky Ward .

And in truly tragic news, it has been announced that his teenage son has now sadly died.

French-speaking Canadian network TVA Nouvelles has claimed that Gatti Jr was with his mother , Amanda Rodrigues, in Mexico before his death.

The Ring has confirmed Gatti Jr's shocking passing, reporting that his cause of death was unknown at the time of posting.
